I started my internship at KVALITO in June 2021, just after my final year exam for my University degree in Malaysia, and then continued it in my home country – Mauritius. Despite not being able to go to the office, I always felt motivated to wake up in the morning and work, as the ambience at KVALITO was very positive. This opportunity has allowed me to develop my professional skills and my communication skills, and gain insights into a varied and fast-paced business world as well. It has been an eye-opening dive into delivering quality in the Life-Science and pharmaceutical industry from a middle-office and a back-office perspective! I’m more than grateful for having this amazing opportunity to virtually meet and interact with my colleagues all across the globe.
I first started as an intern in operations management, whereby I gained fascinating exposure to some aspects of how the corporate world works. I learnt how to professionally approach clients and was given the opportunity to attend some of HBA’s (Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association) events, which was an inspiring experience. Additionally, I was responsible for writing job descriptions for publication on the career portal on the KVALITO website. I then realised how formatting and all small details are important to achieving perfection, as these indeed make a difference in presenting the business optimally online and attracting top talent. I then moved into the accounting department whereby I had the opportunity to create each and every employee’s invoices together with a colleague. I especially appreciated at KVALITO, that every employee made time to carefully explain a given task, and answer my questions.
It was the first time I felt absolutely comfortable in a company as an intern. I was treated equally to a full-time employee, and this encouraged me to work even harder and to learn more from my seniors.
I would like to express my utmost gratitude to the CEO of KVALITO, Mrs. Magdalena Kurpierz, and to the director of KVALITO Malaysia, Mrs. Selvi Nadarajan, who, in spite of having a tight schedule, provided me with the required training and invaluable all-round support.
I perceive these three months of my internship as a big milestone in my career development, and I will strive to put into practice the knowledge and skills gained in the best possible way in my professional future. I have taken on a CSA course to further enhance my professional knowledge and skills. If in the future I have the chance to do another internship here or work as a full-time employee, I will certainly seize the opportunity!
