A shot in the dark: My Internship Journey from being a researcher to becoming a Life Science Consultant at KVALITO Consulting Group

Life Science Consultant

Those familiar with me often observe that I approach daily tasks and life in general with an analytical mindset. I am keen on the choices I make and on keeping activities organized. Therefore, science represents more than a mere passion for me, but rather it constitutes a comprehensive mode of thinking that furnishes an ideal methodology for addressing varied situations.

As a recent Biotechnology graduate, I undertook assignments in both manual and computerized system validation for bio-tech clients.  Originally envisioning a long-term career solely within laboratory settings, my aspirations evolved towards embracing a more dynamic and diversified professional path.  Hence, the shift in focus led me to pursue further education in Quality Assurance and GMP Compliance.  These efforts not only broadened my expertise but also allowed me to be onboarded at KVALITO.

When I was offered a position as an intern, it seemed a shot in the dark. I was leaving a secure position as a researcher to endeavor in a project which although was deeply connected to my academic background but also required me to let go of the practical skills I mastered in the lab and reinvent myself.

Despite my concerns regarding the step I was taking, my ambition motivated me to take a step further for my professional career. Now looking back, I can confidently say that that it was the best decision I have made. My first 2 months as an intern were frantic, a seamless series of meetings, trainings, and constant interactions which was overwhelming. My excitement and wiliness to learn more and better understand the project I was supporting, encouraged me to keep going.

Thanks to the support of senior consultants with whom I worked along with and who took my role seriously and encouraged me to give my best and cheered my successes. This inspired me and helped me grow.

What I enjoyed most within these 6 months at KVALITO was the encouragement I received to overcome limits. Having the possibility to manage a group of collaborators, being a part of a diverse team and learning new skills, which later furthered my analytical mindset and my problem-solving skills, makes me proud of how far I have come.

From describing myself as a hiker just starting at the bottom of the Mountain while beginning my internship, to now reaching my goal, the peak, I can confidently say that the view from up here already looks amazing.
